Mint Day – Mint Pulav

After a long time I am on a cooking spree and I have decided to have Pudina (Mint) pulav. Here goes the easy recipe of my favourite Mint Pulav.
This serves 2 people.

  • Basmati rice – 1 cup (Normal rice also will do)
  • Pudina (Mint leaves) – One stack
  • Onions – 1
  • Potatoes – 2
  • Coriander – 1/2 stack
  • Chillies – 3
  • Little bit of Cashew, jeera, peanuts
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Salt
  • Soak Basmati rice for about 15 minutes
  • Make a paste of mint leaves, coriander and chillies
  • In a pan, put oil and add jeera, cashew nuts, peanuts, chopped onions and ginger-garlic paste and saute it till onion becomes little brownish.
  • Add chopped potatoes and saute for another minute.
  • Add the mint coriander mix and mix well.
  • Drain water and add the soaked rice and salt and mix it for another 2 minutes.
  • Either you can put this mixture in a pressure cooker and cook it for 2-3 whistles or put in a electric cooker.
  • Water – 1:2 proportions.
Yummy yummy MInt pulav is READY!!!! You may eat it with Tomato Raitha. I love it without any side dish tooooo 🙂
